A New Twist on Recylable Water Cartons: Advertising That Covers the Water’s Cost to You

Last week I attended the AAHOA Convention & Trade Show in New Orleans. One of the most interesting companies I came across at the trade show was AdReach. The company makes it easy for upscale properties to supply affordable water to guests in Tetra Prisma Aseptic 330mL cartons made from 63.4 percent renewable plant-based materials. All paperboard used in the cartons comes from Forest Stewardship Council-certified forests and other controlled sources. The recyclable cartons include a plant-based cap that is also recyclable.

A lodging establishment must commit to purchase at least 1 pallet (2,304 cartons) per month for 12 months. Standard delivery is 15 cents per carton and a logo can be added to a carton’s standard design for 15 cents per carton. Custom orders require a minimum of 10 pallets. Delivery can be scheduled over time. With the help of AdReach, the cost of the water can be lowered to as little as zero with advertising on the cartons. The water can then be offered either as a free amenity or be sold at retail.

The water, packaged in the U.S., is high quality and undergoes a filtration and UV treatment purification process.

Are the water cartons a perfect replacement for fossil fuel-based plastic water bottles? No, but they are certainly an improvement and a very visible way to show your commitment to waste reduction.
