TROY, OHIO—The ITW Food Equipment Group welcomed food and hospitality industry professionals to see its latest customer-driven innovations in kitchen equipment at the National Restaurant Show in Chicago. High-performance, energy-efficient commercial kitchen products and smart technologies from brands including Hobart, Traulsen, Baxter, Vulcan, Wolf, Berkel, IBEX, Stero and Somat were on display at McCormick Center.

This year, two brands from the ITW Food Equipment Group had equipment featured in the Kitchen Innovations Award booth.

  • The IBEX rapid-cook oven is first-in-the-world equipment that delivers combi oven quality at speed oven times. Using radio frequency that is constantly analyzing and adjusting based on feedback for that exact moment in time, IBEX communicates with the food—delivering uniform results at world-class speed while cooking a single portion, full tray or full load. No water, drain or hood is required.
  • The Hobart AMTL two level door type commercial dishwasher features two wash chambers to optimize efficiency and productivity, while also providing the Hobart Clean for superior washing performance.

The ITW Food Equipment Group brands also showcased other industry-leading food equipment designed to bring efficiencies to the commercial kitchen space.

Hobart displayed the Legacy+ maximum heavy-duty mixer series, which provides up to 30 percent more mixing capacity depending on the application, and the Centerline by Hobart Edge slicer offering, which was recently expanded to include 10- and 14-inch knives. For its dishwasher line, Hobart introduced the new AM16-ADV door type with Smart touchscreen controls that provide intuitive operation and integration of Wi-Fi connectivity and the Hobart SmartConnect App; plus, the new CDH Centerline door-type with digital display and normal and extended cycle options.

Reach-in Refrigerators/Freezers & More

Other products introduced at the show were the Centerline by Traulsen reach-in refrigerators/freezers, prep tables, compact undercounter refrigerators/freezers and reach-in and undercounter blast chillers. The new product line combines quality, simplicity, and reliability to provide the best possible value for budget-conscious operators.

Baxter, known for its superior baking and cooking equipment, introduced its OV520 next-generation rack oven with new Smart Touch digital control to simplify operation with minimal training. The easy-to-use programmable control provides efficiencies and excellent baking performance.

Recognized as a reliable and consistent manufacturer of top-quality commercial cooking equipment, Vulcan recently introduced the TCM Combi Oven series. The TCM features Vulcan’s patented ABC mode, Touch-N-Go recipe programmability, and self-wash and descaling cycles. It’s simple enough for entry-level users to operate, yet powerful enough for seasoned chefs to create culinary masterpieces. Additionally, Vulcan added a 50 lb. fryer to its VEG Series of gas fryers. Boasting a larger fry tank than its 35 lb. counterpart, the VEG50 offers operators more productivity while maintaining its Energy Star certification.
