NEW YORK—The Good Plastic Company has unveiled GROWTH, a new collection of Polygood patterns designed in collaboration with Gensler, the global design firm, serving as product design consultant. Expanding the brand’s signature Cradle to Cradle, 100 percent recycled and recyclable polystyrene panels, GROWTH reimagines traditional surface materials—marble, terrazzo, and beyond—and supports a circular approach to product design. Thoughtfully created to honor nature’s delicate balance, this refreshing series transforms waste into beauty, blending design innovation with environmental impact.

“We are delighted to collaborate with The Good Plastic Company on this new collection of Polygood patterns for horizontal application,” says Scott Star, Director of Product Development at Gensler. “The circular nature of the material is well-aligned with our sustainability objectives, and the patterns provide a welcome alternative for commercial countertops, vanities, and furniture.”

Mimicking nature’s artistry and regenerative cycle, the new line reinterprets recycled materials, achieving a breakthrough in sustainability without compromising aesthetic integrity or design sophistication. Composed of post-consumer and post-industrial plastic waste and enhanced with accents from discarded refrigerators, washing machine enclosures, industrial spools, and consumer electronics, GROWTH reinvents remnants of the past into the surfaces of tomorrow. Eight distinct patterns—Cliff, Oyster, Pebble, Midnight, Pumice, Frost, Gossamer, and Haze––embrace organic textures and biophilic elements. From the intricate details of tree bark and leaves to earthy, sandy finishes and the luminescence of water, these patterns bring an exclusive design-centric combination of sustainability and refinement to workplace, hospitality, retail, and high-end residential interiors.

Reinforces Polygood as Viable Choice for Sustainable Luxury Design

“Collaborating with global design leader Gensler is a defining moment for the company,” says Dr. William Chizhovsky, Founder and CEO. “The name ‘GROWTH’ not only symbolizes the collection’s inspiration from nature but also marks a new chapter for The Good Plastic Company as we pioneer a new category of recycled surface materials. This important collaboration underscores the industry’s shift toward low-carbon solutions and reinforces Polygood as a viable choice for sustainable luxury design. Together, we’re reimaging what’s possible—setting a new benchmark for circularity, innovation, and elevated design.”

Designed to be as beautiful as they are sustainable, the nature-inspired patterns embrace the future of low-carbon materials without compromising durability or safety. The entire Polygood line is free of heavy metals including halogen, mercury, lead, cadmium, chromium, chlorine, fluorine, and bromine, ensuring a responsible choice for both people and the planet. Specifying GROWTH can save up to 13 pounds of CO₂ per square foot compared to the current industry average, according to Polygood’s Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

“The series celebrates the natural world, creating an immersive, tactile experience that is beautiful, versatile, and adaptable across many design styles and project types,” adds Mark Morton, Principal and Design Director at Gensler.

The launch of this collection comes at a pivotal moment, as companies increasingly prioritize responsible design solutions. Gensler’s Design Forecast 2025 highlights the most pressing industry challenges and data-driven sustainability and material performance insights. In response, the GROWTH series sets a new standard for enhanced performance, sustainability, and material richness.

The new collection is available immediately for commercial project specifications worldwide through The Good Plastic Company’s network of sales representatives and distributors.
