MANCHESTER, N.H.—Xeros, the innovator of an ultra-low water laundry system, announced that several hotels and commercial laundries have joined the Xeros Million Gallon Club by each saving more than one million gallons of water using Xeros’ award-winning polymer bead cleaning laundry system. The patented, award-winning system delivers superior cleaning performance while using 80 percent less water, up to 50 percent less energy, and approximately 50 percent less detergent than traditional systems. In addition to significant operational savings, the advanced technology has also proven to extend linen life with gentler cleaning and improved recovery rates over traditional aqueous systems.

Six hotels and one industrial laundry have reached the one million gallon savings milestone: Hyatt Regency Reston, Hilton LA Universal City, North Shore Hotel, eLaundry.com, Stanford Park Hotel, Clarion Inn Providence-Seekonk, and Hampton Inn-Seekonk. As a member of the Xeros Million Gallon Club each of these organizations is recognized as an environmentally-conscious business that is committed to conserving water.

“The system is incredibly environmentally friendly,” said Chad Hanson, Regional V.P. of Operations North Shore Hotel. “We’re extremely pleased that we can tell our guests that we are a green hotel with this initiative in place.”

“We have many more hotels that will reach the one million gallon savings milestone and some that will hit the two million gallon savings milestone within the next six months,” said Joe Bazzinotti, Sr. Vice President and General Manager, Xeros Global Commercial Laundry.

The Xeros laundry system replaces up to 80 percent of the water with polymer beads to provide superior cleaning results compared with conventional aqueous washing methods. By combining the beads’ molecular structure with a proprietary detergent solution, dirt from soiled items is attracted and absorbed by the beads, producing cleaner results. The reusable beads have a lifespan of hundreds of washes before being collected and recycled.
