MINNEAPOLIS—For a sweet spin on Happy Hour, FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar Mall of America launches a new Buzz Hour special, available daily in the Cocktail Bar. The newly launched promotion offers a menu of dishes and drinks that incorporate local Minnesotan honey, grown on the Honey Bee colonies on the rooftop of Radisson Blu Mall of America.

In June 2015, Radisson Blu Mall of America partnered with the University of Minnesota Bee Squad to install two Honey Bee colonies, each with about 10,000 Honey Bees per colony that live on the hotel’s roof. In conjunction with Radisson Blu Mall of America’s Bee Demonstrations hosted from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, guests have a chance to indulge in the local flavors Minnesota has to offer, while being able to sample and savor an array of dishes that incorporate the hyper-local honey made in-house at the hotel’s Honey Bee colonies.

The menu includes three savory plates, two desserts, and a cocktail each featuring the housemade honey. Diners can enjoy dishes such as Roasted Cider Carrots and Fennel with rooftop honey glaze, a Double Chocolate Honey Tart with chocolate honey ganache, honey mouse, and cremeux as well as sip on the Calhoun Loon, a vibrant cocktail made with Prairie Organic Vodka, Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, pink grapefruit juice, and local honey syrup.

As an added incentive, every guest who purchases an item off the Buzz Hour menu will be entered for a chance to win a one night stay at the Radisson Blu Mall of America. The Buzz Hour menu at FireLake is available daily in the Cocktail Bar Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. For additional information visit www.firelakerestaurant.com/moa.
