STAMFORD, CONN.—The New York City borough of Queens will soon be home to a dual-hotel development featuring two Starwood brands. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced plans to open Four Points by Sheraton Flushing and Element Flushing in September 2015. Owned by Century Construction Group, the hotels will boast a convenient location, just ten minutes from LaGuardia Airport.

“This exciting, new project will combine our affordable and stylish Four Points brand with our eco-wise Element brand in one location within the vibrant borough of Queens,” said Brian McGuinness, senior vice president of Specialty Select Brands for Starwood. “Travelers will enjoy two fresh options at an affordable price point, within close proximity of numerous New York City attractions.”

Four Points by Sheraton Flushing will feature 178 guestrooms, 1,585 square feet of meeting space and dining service. Element Flushing will offer 118 rooms, a select-service restaurant and 1,015 square feet of flexible meeting space with modular furnishings and a flexible layout. The two hotels will share a 24-hour fitness center and heated indoor pool.

Boasting the second largest pipeline among all Starwood brands, Four Points by Sheraton has more than 175 hotels worldwide in 2013, fueled by the success of its “best for business” proposition for travelers seeking great hotels at great rates. Four Points by Sheraton Flushing will be the brand’s fourth hotel in New York City.

All Elements Pursue LEED Certification

Launched in 2008, Starwood’s trailblazing Element brand has made history as the first major hotel brand to mandate that all properties pursue the United States Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification for high-performance buildings. Element Flushing will join Element New York Times Square West as the second Element in New York City.

“We look forward to bringing two world-class Starwood brands to Flushing as we continue to accelerate our portfolio growth in New York City,” said Allison Reid, senior vice president of North America Development, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. “The upcoming opening of Four Points by Sheraton Flushing and Element Flushing will help satisfy the growing appetite for Starwood’s affordable and stylish brands in this vibrant urban market.”

Located just minutes from LaGuardia Airport and eight miles from midtown Manhattan, Four Points by Sheraton Flushing and Element Flushing will be close to the New York Hall of Science, the American Museum of Moving Image and Flushing Botanical Gardens. The hotels will also offer proximity to Arthur Ashe Stadium, the Bronx Zoo, Midtown Manhattan, Times Square and the Broadway Theater District.

“We are proud to partner with Starwood Hotels & Resorts to introduce both Four Points by Sheraton and Element to Flushing,” said George Xu, owner, Century Construction Group. “We anticipate that both hotels will be popular with incoming travelers who want the convenience of an airport hotel plus all the benefits of the Starwood Preferred Guest program.”
