LOMBARD, ILL.—It’s hard to imagine what would blossom from a young man teaching himself to clean restaurants and residences in suburban Chicago. From the inception of the company in 1993 as a general cleaning company named Appeal Carpet and Upholstery Cleaners, to present day as specialist Renue Systems, the company has experienced tremendous growth and plenty of learning experiences along the way.
In 2010 Owner, President and CEO David Grossman came aboard, and with him came new services aligned with the evolving revitalization needs of hotels.
“As a company focused exclusively on helping hotels maintain their appearance at a high level, it’s been fun to solve the hard problems when it comes to cleaning and restoration services,” Grossman says. “We’ve introduced an escalator cleaning process that is best-in-class and developed a unique chandelier cleaning system that is also top notch. We’re constantly working behind the scenes to solve problems for the finest hoteliers in the world.”
Today, Renue Systems is an international franchise with 30 locations across the United States, Canada, Middle East and Europe. The company has preferred vendor partnerships with Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Best Western, Fairmont and procurement leaders Avendra and Foodbuy among others.
Franchise System That Works
Paramount to the success of the company are their franchise partners. Franchisees are growing up with the company—literally. Jeff Butler joined Renue Systems as an employee in his twenties, and through passion and perseverance was able to acquire a franchise. “I worked hard, and the support from the Renue home office team was tremendous from day one,” explains Butler about his experience.
Innovation in products and services is at an all-time high as Renue Systems hits the quarter century mark. “After successfully introducing mattress replacement and recycling last year, we are excited about laundry and trash chute cleaning hitting the market in 2018,” adds Founder Marty Jollette.
Great products and services go only so far within a franchise system. In the end, what’s made Renue Systems special for 25 years is the culture. The mission statement—making shine the people and places that deeply care about improvement—is an ode to both literal improvements to making spaces look new again, and figuratively, to franchisees and employees through development and growth initiatives that are a major focus within the company.

Chad Eding, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa and a longtime customer, sums up his experience with the company. “I started working with Renue when I was an Executive Housekeeper in Chicago in 2001 and have continued to use them throughout my career travels in eight different locations across the country.
