NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO—Moen Inc.’s Commercial Division introduces new Ultra-Low Flow showerheads, in fixed and handheld models, designed with conservation and durability in mind. The new Ultra-Low Flow showerheads have a flow rate of 1.6 gallons per minute, offering a 30 percent water savings from the industry standard of 2.5 gallons per minute. Not only is this savings significant in reducing water consumption, but it also reduces energy costs, as less hot water is used.

Unlike some low-flow showerheads that simply restrict the water flow, Moen Commercial’s Ultra-Low Flow showerheads feature an optimized spray pattern to preserve the showering experience that end-users are accustomed to from full-flow showerheads. To create this unique design, the new showerhead has innovative spray formers that increase the velocity of the water streams hitting the body, treating users to a full, enveloping spray.

Inclusion of the new Commercial Ultra-Low Flow showerheads can contribute toward a building’s eligibility for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, earning the building up to two points in the Water Use Reduction category.

“As conservation and LEED accreditation continue to gain significance in building construction and renovation, we recognize the need to expand our commercial line of showering products to include water-saving models,” said Allen Talley, Moen’s Commercial director of marketing and product development. “These new Ultra-Low Flow showerheads advance Moen’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility by offering yet another solution for resource conservation.”

New Commercial Ultra-Low Flow fixed showerheads feature a vandal-resistant solid brass shell and a durable chrome finish, while the handheld model is constructed of high impact, chrome plated polymers that reduce possible damage to walls or tubs. Both models feature self-cleaning green nozzles. These showerheads can be found in the Moen Commercial Products Catalog as well as the Commercial LEED Guide.
