NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO—Moen Commercial’s new M•Press metering faucet collection was recently awarded a 2012 Production Innovation Award (PIA) by Architectural Products magazine in the restroom and plumbing category. The awards program, now in its second year, showcases and honors innovation in the development and enhancement of building-related products. Judged by a group of 50 independent industry professionals, the M•Press faucets were selected for their pressure-independent design, which ensures consistent water flow, handle resistance and proper shut-off with every use.

The M•Press line of faucets contain Moen’s new, proprietary Durameter cartridge, a durable brass-shell cartridge featuring a sealed-silicone timing mechanism that is completely isolated from the water source to protect it from impurities and clogs, ensuring consistent timing. Pre-set at 10 seconds, the timing never needs to be reset to compensate for pressure variance, allowing for easy installation and eliminating the frequent maintenance required for most metering faucets. The cartridge’s timing adjustment needle automatically shuts the water off after each use and can be modified from 10 to 60 seconds to suit the needs of any facility.

“At Moen, we are proud to offer products with excellent reliability and unparalleled water and energy cost savings to our customers,” said Mark Knurek, director, marketing and new product development for Moen Commercial. “Receiving this award from Architectural Products magazine is a great achievement and demonstrates our commitment to developing excellent products.”

The PIA awards program objectively reviews building-related products and shares the most innovative with its readership of architects, specifiers, interior designers and building owners/operators. M•Press, along with the other winning products, was featured in a special award section in the November issue of Architectural Products.
