LOUIS—Copeland, a global provider of sustainable climate solutions, released a fundamental redesign of its all-in-one software platform, Verdant Thermostat Manager. The platform streamlines energy optimization for hotels and multi-dwelling units (MDU), enabling owners and operators to maximize operational efficiency across their property portfolio—all from any device.
Government regulations are increasingly mandating the integration of smart thermostat technology in new construction, driven by standards like CA Title 24, NY LL97 and the IECC. Copeland is at the forefront of this shift, delivering innovative solutions for both new and existing buildings aimed at advancing energy efficiency and enabling the energy transition. Verdant Thermostat Manager is just one example of this, as it pairs seamlessly with Verdant’s plug-and-play solution, making integratation with existing HVAC systems and infrastructure accessible without the need for complex rewiring or retrofittings.
Verdant Thermostat Manager helps to optimize HVAC performance, cutting runtimes in commercial buildings by up to 45 percent. This approach not only significantly improves energy efficiency but also enhances Net Operating Income (NOI) without compromising occupant comfort. With its adaptability for both existing structures and new developments, the redesigned platform represents a forward-looking solution to meet the shifting energy demands of today and tomorrow.
Customizable Performance Dashboard
The redesigned Verdant Thermostat Manager offers a new performance dashboard that is customizable, providing a comprehensive portfolio view from any device to track system health and performance of properties in real time, including financial KPIs, runtime data, as well as energy trends, savings and optimization opportunities. With real-time room/unit status data, managers now have more control over unrented units’ temperatures. Additional features include:
- Fully Customizable View: Interactive map for those managing multiple properties to easily navigate through floor plans, sort rooms by efficiency temperature, change room settings, and view real time active alerts and occupancy status for better system tracking and management. It enables users to save time by pushing bulk setting changes to multiple rooms/units or floors simultaneously, including temperature setpoints and VIP mode.
- Energy Management: Improved user-friendly savings interface, designed to make it easier for users to customize temperature settings, with the ability to create multiple energy profiles and bulk-assign rooms to each profile. It also allows users to define specific settings for each stage of the end-user journey (guest arrival, stay and departure).
- Configurations: Users can add floor plans, map rooms to floors and upload images for a more visual and interactive experience.
“No other solution on the market matches the sophistication and scope of the Verdant Thermostat Manager,” said Michael Serour, Vice-President & General Manager, Verdant for Copeland. “The platform empowers owners and operators with unparalleled insight into their HVAC system performance, enabling them to achieve their energy-saving goals while contributing meaningfully to the fight against climate change.”
Through its Verdant energy management solutions, Copeland has helped hotel owners and operators reduce energy use in more than two million hotel rooms throughout North America and Europe due to its unrivaled compatibility and its simple, plug-and-play installation. These qualities and the redesigned Verdant Thermostat Manager allow hotel and MDU owners and operators to quickly see return on investment while meeting rigorous requirements and standards.
