At the Clean Show in August, I had an opportunity to chat with Charity Handley, owner of Match With Nature. Based in Australia and with a warehouse in New Jersey, Match With Nature is the maker of eco-friendly detergent sheets for laundromats, hotels, and other high-demand facilities.
Handley told me that back in 2023 she was setting up a laundry mat in Sydney, Australia and was exploring detergent options for vending machines. With her history of allergies and skin conditions, and her goal of impacting the environment as little as possible, she decided to make detergent sheets with the best quality, natural ingredients.
“Our detergent sheets are crafted from carefully selected, plant-based ingredients that are hypoallergenic, vegan, and free from harsh chemicals like phosphates, parabens, colorants, chlorine, and dioxane,” Handley says.
No Plastic Bottles to Deal With
I had an opportunity to try the sheets at my home recently and was impressed. The detergent sheets eliminate the need for plastic detergent bottles. I added a couple of the small sheets to each laundry load. At the end of the wash process, the biodegradable sheets had disappeared. According to Handley, the detergent sheets, free from harsh chemicals, are ideal for laundry vending machines, are compact and travel-friendly, are available in fragrance free and lavender options, dissolve in both hot and cold water, and there is no sticky residue to deal with—like you might find on a plastic bottle. Each packet replaces three to four traditional detergent doses. The detergent sheets come with biodegradability certification, MSDS safety compliance, are ISO 9001 manufacturing quality, and impact reporting is available on request. Match With Nature offers tiered pricing based on order volume and frequency. There are discounted rates for 12-month supply agreements, and there is a first-time order discount to trial the product.
Handley says the detergent sheets can easily boost profitability in your customer laundry space. The consumer cost breaks down to about 80 cents per wash.
“The more you buy, the cheaper it is,” adds Handley, whose company is working to expand its product lineup to include fabric softener sheets, dryer sheets, and stain removers.
Expanding Into North America
Today, her company’s products can be found all over Australia and Match With Nature is currently expanding into North America.
