KEHL, GERMANY—Sustainability is not a trend—it is a responsibility, and a business imperative. With the publication of its third voluntary annual sustainability report, ADA Cosmetics reaffirms its leadership role in the hospitality industry and its commitment to actively shaping the future: through clear goals, decisive action, and transparent communication.

The 2024 edition sets new standards in both transparency and concrete results, establishing ADA Cosmetics as a benchmark in industry reporting.

A Clear Roadmap for Sustainable Hospitality

As global temperatures continue to climb and extreme weather events multiply worldwide, the road ahead remains challenging and unpredictable. ADA Cosmetics is guided by the belief that those who act with foresight today create stability for tomorrow.

This year’s sustainability report outlines the company’s actions, commitments, and progress in 2024 and provides a forward-facing strategy for the future.

“Sustainability is not an image campaign. It is an ongoing journey that calls for continuous decisions, adjustments, and transparency,” says Lutz Hübner, CEO of ADA Cosmetics. “Our customers, partners, and employees expect more than words—they expect action. We are committed to an open, honest approach that relies on facts, not promises.”

Milestones That Matter

The 2024 report includes notable achievements and actions:

  • A gold medal from EcoVadis for sustainability performance—placing ADA Cosmetics in the top 5 percent of companies assessed worldwide.
  • The definition of three core decarbonization pillars.
  • Emissions targets for 2030 for Scope 1 (direct emissions) and 2 (indirect emissions) reached six years ahead of schedule.
  • The definition of science-based targets for all emissions, including Scope 3 (indirect emissions along the value chain), targeting net zero by 2050.
  • 100 percent renewable electricity purchased for the entire ADA Cosmetics Group for the first time, mainly from wind and solar sources.
  • Four-pillar ethical trade (SMETA) audits completed at all three production sites with all non-compliances resolved, reflecting ADA Cosmetics’ dedication to ethical operations worldwide.
  • Support for the Kuamut Rainforest Conservation Project in Malaysia, through the purchase of carbon credits to offset the company’s gas-related emissions.
  • Industry-leading circular product innovation with the award-winning mono-material hygiene pump, and the ADA Cosmetics Refillution rollout—an innovative refill system that reduces plastic waste by up to 95 percent.
  • Launch of eco-friendly accessories—three redesigned product lines that prioritize renewable materials and reduce or eliminate plastic.

Beyond Compliance, Towards Leadership

Although not yet subject to the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), ADA Cosmetics has proactively started to align with this regulatory framework ahead of time, once again leading where others will follow.

By conducting a Double Materiality Assessment and including additional European Sustainability Reporting Standards in its 2024 report, the company demonstrates its ongoing commitment to transparency, trust, and robust risk management.

ADA Cosmetics remains the only hotel amenities company whose core product portfolio is Cradle to Cradle Silver certified. In 2024, the company initiated its recertification under Version 4.0, reflecting a drive for continuous improvement. The latest version of this global standard presents even stricter requirements on all five pillars.

For Hotels with Integrity

As hotels strive for success in an increasingly sustainability-driven market, ADA Cosmetics stands as a trusted partner, with an approach that is built on science, not slogans.

Sustainability is integrated at every point in the value chain—from strict supplier standards to energy and water-saving measures at the company’s global production sites, and support for many social and community initiatives worldwide.

The culture of responsible business runs throughout the company, with employees receiving regular training on topics ranging from anti-corruption to health and safety. Together with its partners worldwide, ADA Cosmetics continues to focus on building a strong and sustainable future for all.
