FAIRFAX, VA.—InfoComm International, the trade association representing the commercial audiovisual industry, announced that its AV-iQ online product database will now feature specifications of sustainable AV products.

“Integrating information on sustainable products into AV-iQ allows live events professionals and AV manufacturers to work together to comply with sustainable meeting standards and requirements,” said Allen Weidman, InfoComm International Sustainability Officer. “This seamless interface marks the first time InfoComm has provided a forum for AV manufacturers to celebrate their success in developing state of the art green products.”

“AV-iQ is dedicated to providing valuable product information to those who rent, purchase and specify AV technology,” said John Fuchs, senior vice president, InfoCommiQ. “We built this functionality to help consumers easily identify the most appropriate sustainable AV solutions for their events and installations, and we hope manufacturers will support these efforts by entering their product specifications and participating in this important industry endeavor.”

The hospitality industry has experienced a renewed focus on sustainability as a result of ASTM green hospitality and meeting standards that were approved last year. As a result meeting and event planners have specific guidelines and performance measurements for creating environmentally sustainable events.
