NEW YORK—Sherwin-Williams is has introduced its Emerald Interior and Exterior paints and ColorCast Ecotoner colorants. Both Emerald paints and ColorCast Ecotoner colorants are zero VOC. Emerald Interior and Exterior paints are self-priming for a high quality finish achieved with fewer coats. The entire line of Sherwin-Williams water-based paints and colors are now tinted with zero VOC colorant.

“Sherwin-Williams has always been at the forefront of innovation,” said Steve Revnew, vice president of product innovation, Sherwin-Williams. “These products feature revolutionary quality and industry-leading environmental responsibility.”

Emerald Interior paint prevents stains from penetrating, providing easy clean up of surfaces, and resists water streaking and spotting. Third party laboratory tests show that Emerald Interior paint provides exceptional performance in hide, scrub, stain, block and burnish resistance. Emerald Interior paint is GreenGuard Indoor Air Quality certified and GreenGuard certified for children and schools. It is low odor and features anti-microbial properties that inhibit the growth of microbes like mold and mildew on the surface of the paint film.

Emerald Exterior paint delivers durability with a high level of resistance to blistering, peeling, chalking, fading, mildew, and dirt pickup in a 100 percent acrylic formula

New Tinting System

ColorCast Ecotoner colorant is a new tinting system that will not add to the VOC content of any coating when tinted. While the industry’s conventional tint systems affect paint thickness and consistency, ColorCast Ecotoner colorants maintain the paint’s full body after tinting, delivering thick, rich coats for maximum performance.

The ColorCast Ecotoner colorants are used to tint Emerald paints, and all other Sherwin-Williams latex and water-based coatings in any of the company’s more than 1,500 Sherwin-Williams colors or custom color matches.

The new Emerald paints and ColorCast Ecotoner colorants carry the Sherwin-Williams GreenSure designation. Applied to the company’s coatings that are developed and manufactured with less impact on the environment and offering excellent performance, GreenSure-designated paints meet or exceed the toughest regulatory standards. A leader in environmental responsibility, Sherwin-Williams offers many zero VOC and green coatings.

“Our green technology has become a hallmark of Sherwin-Williams products and we are committed to driving advancements that provide exceptional painting products for any need,” said Karl Schmitt, vice president of marketing.
