ORLANDO, FLA.—Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. entered the new year debuting its newest, most advanced products and technology at the 2016 AHR Expo in Orlando, Fla. from January 25 to 27. The event featured Bosch’s latest hydronic air handlers, geothermal heat pumps and inverter ducted split system air-to-air heat pump, among other innovations.

“Bosch constantly pushes the limits of increased efficiency and reliability while advancing the technology for more intuitive setup and serviceability,” said Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. North American Regional President Vitor Gregorio. “This new line of products will further enhance the way we serve our customers, and we’re pleased to debut a number of them at AHR Expo.”

Bosch Thermotechnology featured the following products at the 2016 AHR Expo:

Bosch Hydronic Air Handlers—The new Bosch Hydronic Air Handlers create a more efficient, compact and advanced heating system. By pairing the new air handler with Bosch Greentherm Condensing Tankless Water Heaters, owners can benefit from a more efficient heating system with a virtually endless supply of domestic hot water. The new air handler can replace furnaces with a ducted system, eliminating the need for a gas pipe, venting, and fresh air intake required for furnaces. It can also be used with 3-inch diameter high-velocity mini duct systems in retrofit applications, as well as in new construction. Combining both the Bosch Hydronic Air Handler and .95 EF-rated Greentherm Tankless Water Heaters results in an ultra-efficient heating and domestic hot water system.

Bosch Inverter Ducted Split System Air-to-Air Heat Pumps—Achieving an 18 SEER efficiency rating, Bosch’s new Inverter Air-to-Air Ducted Split System Heat Pump can save hundreds of dollars a year on energy bills by varying operating speeds depending on cooling and heating load rather than simply turning the unit on and off. In addition, the outdoor condensing unit features a new silent blade technology, reducing sound levels down to just 56dB.

Bosch SM Greensource CDi Geothermal Heat Pump (Upgrade)—Bosch upgraded its SM Series two-stage packaged geothermal water source heat pump. The newly reconfigured Greensource CDi Series features redesigned vertical and counterflow enclosures for better serviceability and reliability, upgraded front water connections and an all-aluminum air coil, which resists formicary corrosion. Bosch also redesigned the internal layout for easier access through the front panel to components most often requiring service or adjustment.

All SM packaged units now have the new Bosch Heat Pump Controller, which provides protection, intuitive setup, diagnostics, and improved serviceability of the unit. The Bosch Greensource CDi series stands for Complete Design with Innovation, and is built and tested to be one of the highest efficiency and most reliable units on the market.

LV Split System Comes in Eight Sizes

Bosch Commercial FHP LV Split System Heat Pumps—Designed specifically for the new construction and replacement/retrofit market, the small footprint LV Split System heat pump from Bosch Thermotechnology comes in eight sizes—1.5 through 6 tons—and allows the condensing section to be placed remotely from the air handler section. This allows the unit to be placed where there is limited space or where the condenser needs to be located away from occupied areas to minimize noise impacts.

Buderus Stainless Steel Boiler Series (New Sizes)—Bosch Thermotechnology announces a range of new sizes for its sealed combustion high efficiency stainless steel boiler line with condensing technology. The Buderus SSB Series now consists of eight models in four separate chassis sizes with inputs ranging from 85MBH up to 1024MBH. These are now applicable for use in small studio units all the way up to commercial buildings. With built-in manifolds and controls, Buderus SSB commercial boilers can be used for cascade applications with easy installation and integration with Building Management Systems (BMS).

Bosch introduced the new SSB Series mid-size range 255, 399 and 512 MBH models in fall 2015, and in mid-2016 will introduce 85, 120, 160 MBH residential models, followed by 819 and 1024 MBH commercial sizes.

Bosch Controls—The Bosch Control-Smart Room Thermostat allows for precise temperature control from anywhere in the world via the downloadable app, Wi-Fi and internet connectivity, and can be used remotely with compatible smartphones or tablets. The Bosch Control interfaces with compatible Bosch and Buderus condensing boilers and allows the user to control both heating and hot water settings for greater energy savings.

In addition, Bosch’s New Systems Control (NSC) package of intelligent modules are designed to control single or multiple zone systems for increased indoor comfort and greater energy savings. The NSC tightly controls energy use through two-way communications with a range of high efficiency (95 percent AFUE) Bosch and Buderus condensing boiler offerings: Greenstar wall-mounted and floor-standing boilers; Buderus GB142 and GB162 boilers for larger homes; and light commercial applications.
