SAINT CHARLES, MO. —Pineapple Hospitality announced that it will soon offer a full line of eco Biodegradable Bottle Amenities. Pineapple’s eco Amenities is a line of luxury hotel soaps and toiletries designed for discerning and environmentally conscious hospitality properties and guests.

All eco liquids and soaps are made with minimal preservatives, all soaps are made using palm kernel oil and have a low fragrance, and the minimal packaging is made from 60 to 90 percent post-consumer,
non-bleached board using soy-based natural ink.

The new eco line is one of the first hotel toiletry programs designed and manufactured using the latest in environmentally friendly packaging. The all-new eco bottles are made using a 100 percent biodegradable product called plastarch (PSM). Plastarch is a polymer that is derived primarily from corn, which is biodegradable and a renewable resource.

Hotel amenities can be extremely wasteful. The toiletries often use a lot of packaging for a small amount of product, and both product and packaging are tossed out at the end of each guest’s stay. Biodegradable products and packaging allow guests to use a high-quality product and not feel guilty when the refuse is tossed into the trash.

Stepping Toward Sustainability

“The eco Biodegradable Bottles Amenities take us a step closer to
100 percent sustainable hotel operations,” says Ray Burger, president of
Pineapple Hospitality. “Every day, millions of bottles of hotel
amenities end up in the trash and are taken to landfills. The eco
Amenities make sure that in a million years, those bottles won’t
still be sitting there.

Features of the new eco Biodegradable Bottle Amenities include: PSM corn starch biodegradable bottles; post-consumer recycled boxes; soy-based inks; minimal packaging; vegetable soaps; low fragrance; minimal preservatives; and not tested on animals.

“The environmentally friendly packaging would be an afterthought if the products themselves didn’t live up to the quality standards guests expect from their amenities,” Burger says. “Guest aren’t willing to compromise on quality in order to go green, especially when they are out on the road. Performance is key. That’s where eco Amenities excels: merging being green with luxury-spa-grade function.”

The eco products being offered through Pineapple Hospitality include: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body cream, 33G Shea Butter soap bar, 20G facial soap bar; shower cap, sewing kit, shoe polisher, vanity kit, and make-up remover wipes.
