ALPHARETTA, GA.—Philips Electronics announced its 2010 hospitality TV range, which includes new lines of commercial televisions for the Free-to-Guest (FTG) and Pay-Per-View (PPV) segments of the hospitality market. The Philips FTG Series, available in Harmony and Lavish ranges, and the Philips PPV Series, available in Synergy and Indulgence ranges, both include attributes that have come to be expected from Philips Hospitality.

The launch of the Free-to-Guest ranges demonstrates Philips’ understanding of a hotel industry increasingly moving away from traditional pay-per-view systems, instead offering more high definition content free of charge, as well as guests bringing their own content in the form of DVDs, personal media players, personal gaming systems, and Smart phones.

Additionally, the Synergy and Harmony ranges offer complete television solutions for both the free-to-guest or pay-per-view oriented hotelier, by providing a television solution that manages initial costs as well as operational expenses over the life of the TV. In addition to the television, the bundle also includes Philips’ unique ‘Meet the Truck’ professional installation, the Philips Smart Gateway remote television management appliance, and a three-year advanced exchange warranty. The FTG-oriented Harmony range is available in sizes 32 and 37”; the PPV-oriented Synergy range is available in sizes 26, 32, 37, 42, and 52”.

The Philips 2010 range boasts the Philips collection of Smart features including SmartGuide, the fast free way for guests to find channels they wish to watch. SmartStand is included in the box with Philips commercial televisions up to 42”, providing a securable tempered glass stand that offers a 30/60/90 degree selectable and limitable swivel. SmartPower with AutoSense is Philips’ third generation energy savings feature that allows for eight different power settings to meet energy saving goals without compromising the viewing experience. AutoSense operates based on actual room conditions and is a built-in optimization engine that uses a light sensor to always deliver the best picture at the lowest possible energy consumption.

The range also includes SmartInstall software for efficient installation, SmartClone for USB or RF cloning, and SmartCP autosensing side inputs for flexible connectivity options and a host of other features. These innovations round out existing industry specifications including Pro:Idiom, MPEG-4, and RoHS compliance; and LodgeNet HD Built-In and b-LAN on the Synergy and Indulgence ranges.
