PARSIPPANY, N.J.—Wyndham Worldwide, one of the world’s largest hospitality companies, took home international top honors, receiving The Outstanding Building of the Year Award (TOBY) at the Building Owners and Managers Association International’s (BOMA) annual conference this week. The recognition is for its corporate headquarters building in Parsippany, N.J.

TOBY Awards honor outstanding office buildings for excellence in building management, operational efficiency, emergency planning, tenant relations and community impact. Wyndham was honored for its achievements in the Corporate Facility category. To win an International TOBY Award, a property must first win both the local and regional competitions. Wyndham Worldwide won its first TOBY at the New Jersey state competition last fall and its second at the Middle Atlantic Regional competition in April.

“A tremendous amount of thoughtful planning goes into the operation of our headquarters building,” said Frank Campana, Senior Vice President, Corporate Real Estate and Facilities, Wyndham Worldwide. “We consider everything when it comes to associate productivity and sustainable practices. This recognition reflects our commitment to adopting innovative practices that improve and sustain positive results over time, as well as enhancing our associates’ work-life environment, and our ongoing dedication to operational excellence.”

The headquarters building, which is a single-tenant, premier office building, is the first and only building in New Jersey to earn double LEED designations for both Corporate Interiors and Existing Building—Operations and Maintenance. Throughout the entire design and construction phase, Wyndham Worldwide incorporated specific strategies and features that resulted in significant energy savings, including a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of 1,667 tons. Additionally, all of the company’s energy usage is tracked through the EPA’s Energy Star online tool and its current Energy Star rating is ¬¬¬97 out of 100, making Wyndham Worldwide’s corporate offices among the top three percent of the most efficient buildings in the nation.

“Through the programs and services we offer to support our associates, we aim to provide great experiences for our team so they can provide great experiences for our customers around the world,” said Carolyn Mesce, Vice President, Facilities and Office Services, Wyndham Worldwide.
