Wind Powered

7/12/2011

The U.S. wind industry had 40,181 MW of wind power capacity installed at the end of 2010, with 5,116 MW installed in 2010 alone. The U.S. wind industry has added more than 35 percent of all new generating capacity over the past four years, second only to natural gas, and more than nuclear and coal combined. While still rare in the lodging industry, wind turbines are increasingly becoming a viable option for lodging establishments.

If your property has a wind turbine or turbines and is not listed on this page, contact Glenn Hasek, publisher and editor of Green Lodging News, at (440) 243-2055, or editor@greenlodgingnews.com.
