NATICK, MASS.—Despite the recent stormy weather in New England, two Boston-area tennis clubs are seeing things a bit brighter these days. That’s because ThinkLite recently retrofit their existing fluorescent lights with new ThinkLite high output LED tube lighting.

Natick Racquet Club and the Waltham Athletic Club are now experiencing the power and efficiency of ThinkLite LED tube lighting. “The lights are fantastic,” said Shelia Weinstock, Manager of Natick Racquet Club. “They are really bright and the members are loving them. The light is much more even on all the courts and there is a significant improvement in the lighting for play. We’re very happy with them.” Lou Franchi, owner of the Waltham Athletic Club, added, “Players and teaching pros have told me that they can see the ball much better and one even said it has improved his game.”

Applying a combination of utility company incentives and rebates, the projected annual savings are nearly $38,000 for Natick Racquet Club with annual savings of nearly $42,000 projected for Waltham Athletic Club. “The rebates were significant,” said Mike Andersen, Sales Director of ThinkLite. “We were very pleased to work directly with the utilities to secure rebates of 70 percent for The Natick Club, while the Waltham Athletic Club enjoyed susbstantial rebates of 90 percent.”

New Payment Program Launched

ThinkLite recently launched a “pay as you save” program that extends the monthly payments that are typically added to an operator’s utility bill, extending the term of payments and reducing the monthly payment to a comfortable level.

Additional benefits include a 50 percent reduction in energy consumption, as well as a 65,000-hour lifespan; three to four times the average lifespan of the fluorescent bulbs that were replaced. They also feature instant on/off, minimal light depreciation over time, and the highest light levels available.

The higher light level is the result of ThinkLite’s proprietary driverless design. Until now, all LED tubes required an internal or external driver, which consisted of an array of more than 150 electronic components. These components generated a lot of heat that limited the lumen levels that could be achieved. ThinkLite engineers, however, were able to replace the driver with four microchips that essentially perform the same functions yet give off virtually no heat. They were then able to also enhance the heat sink enabling the chips to be driven at never before seen levels.

“ThinkLite’s driverless technology rewrites the book on lighting efficiency, quality and lifespan,” said Dinesh Wadhwani, ThinkLite co-founder and CEO.
