AMELIA ISLAND, FLA.—Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort is planning a “Fish to Fork” weekend. The competition, benefiting the James Beard Scholarship Foundation, will be hosted over Mother’s Day weekend, May 5 to 8. Two-time Fish to Fork winner Daven Wardynski, Executive Chef at the Omni resort, will welcome six competing chefs and guests for myriad events throughout the weekend. From taste tests to an actual fishing expedition alongside award-winning chefs, Fish to Fork offers a rare opportunity for gastronomes who have a love for the sea.

Guests will have a variety of packages to choose from, including a VIP Package, Weekend Package, and Main Event Package. The Fish to Fork VIP Package will include: three nights in oceanfront accommodations, welcome cocktails and dinner with the chefs, choice of fishing with chefs or wine-paired lunch on the beach, wine-paired dinner at the Sunrise Café overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, farm-to-table lunch at The Sprouting Project, an on-property aquaponics greenhouse and organic garden, and two tickets to the main event.

The Weekend Package will include: two nights in luxury oceanfront accommodations; wine-paired dinner at the Sunrise Café overlooking the Atlantic Ocean; farm-to-table lunch at The Sprouting Project; and two tickets to the main event

The Main Event Package will include: one night in luxury oceanfront accommodations; and two tickets to the main event.

The main event on May 7 includes two challenges. During the individual competition, chefs will use the bounty they caught during a charter-fishing trip to make a signature dish. A team contest will then divide competing chefs into two groups that compete against each other and the clock to create a winning entree. The chefs will ultimately be tested with a live vote from guests who sample the treats.

Go to Fish to Fork.
