PORTLAND, ORE.—MeetGreen, a leader in sustainable meeting and conference management, announced the release of the latest version of their Resource Kit featuring many tools and information designed for professional meeting planners and suppliers.
The kit includes a new meeting impact measurement tool stylized in the form of a board game. The tool allows meeting planners to visually see the impact of various choices made by conference attendees. What if an attendee packs one less pair of shoes or eats chicken instead of beef? “If One Attendee…” calculates the total impact based on the number of attendees the meeting planner enters. Inspirational and educational all in one, the tool is filled with ideas for improving green meetings.
The newly released APEX/ASTM Environmentally Sustainable Event Standards (APEX/ASTM Standards) for sustainable meetings are becoming an important part of meeting planning, but, in their raw form, they can be difficult to decipher. The Resource Kit includes newly created APEX/ASTM Standards checklists that make it easy to track compliance with the standards as one plans a meeting.
The Resource Kit also includes a series of best practice guides for the specific meeting planning in the nine areas of meeting management: Accommodations, Audio/visual, Communications, Destination, Exhibits, Food & Beverage, Meeting Venue, Onsite Office and Transportation. Sample contract language provides meeting planners with the right language to put into their contracts to help ensure a truly green meeting. Finally, vendor surveys help planners ask the right questions to gather the data they need to follow up with vendor commitments and measure the impact of their green event.
