RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, CALIF.—Jeff Lazar and Jim Hesterly announced the launch of a new hospitality lighting supplier, Meadow Lighting, and simultaneously appointed Ken Koneck as vice president to steer the new venture. Meadow Lighting is uniquely positioned to deliver guestroom table and floor lamp portables, as well as hardwired fixtures including wall mounted sconces and small hanging fixtures for lodging.
“Lighting offers us a wonderful additional platform of product design and functionality in guestrooms, to blend with JLF’s seating and fine tables,” says Jeff Lazar, president of JL Furnishings. “JLF has enjoyed unprecedented growth over the last several years. Now with the new lighting company in place, the leadership of Meadow Lighting can help customers “light up” their hospitality designs.
“We listened to our customers who told us, if you are going to do this, you have to be better,” says Jim Hesterly, president of Meadow Lighting. “We must be superior to all other players in our space. Ken and I have the right plans in place to do this.”
Meadow Lighting has partnerships with class-A-rated lighting factories in China. Initially, most of Meadow Lighting’s production will be based in China, but the long-term goal of the company is to bring as much production as possible back to the United States. Meadow Lighting has employees permanently housed in its factories, including full-time employees in China. Meadow Lighting will have U.S. staff regularly conduct production inspections in China as well. All product made in China will flow through Meadow Lighting’s U.S. factory for inspection prior to shipping to its final destination. Providing sustainable solutions including LED bulbs, dimmers, and recycled materials is also a goal for Meadow Lighting. Sustainability is a core value of its sister companies JLF and Lone Meadow.
In addition to Koneck, who has 10 years of experience in marketing and sales with Valley Forge Fabrics, Meadow Lighting has hired a team of dedicated employees with lighting experience in hospitality ready to hit the ground running.
