Hydroelectric Powered

7/12/2011

In the lodging industry they are extremely rare but hydroelectric systems are helping several properties supplement or entirely meet their electricity needs. On a much larger scale, hydropower is used to produce more electricity than other methods of electricity generation in the United states. California meets 15 percent of its electric power requirements through hydroelectric power generation. Having access to hydroelectric power is all about location; one obviously needs close proximity to a significant amount of water running downhill.

If your property has a hydroelectric system and is not listed on this page, contact Glenn Hasek, publisher and editor of Green Lodging News, at (440) 243-2055, or contact him by e-mail at editor@greenlodgingnews.com.
