NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF.—A new company, Cozy Green, is providing new life to old hotel towels and linens. Cozy Green utilizes spent hotel pool towels, spa towels and linens to create logo recognized, contemporary retail products.

Ideally, the company seeks towels with logos on them, and then “upcycles” them to new branded product for their hotel partners. Cozy Green specializes in totes, hooded sweatshirts, slippers, pillows and recently introduced pet beds. These products could replace the standard robe and slippers currently found in hotel rooms.

“Our business model is to create a partnership with resorts which clearly meets their sustainability goals,” according to Gary Crane, marketing director for Cozy Green. “Hotels provide us with their used towels, which we use to produce a finished garment or accessory they can market on their property.”

Currently, Cozy Green is offering free samples to interested properties. Hoteliers need only provide Cozy Green with discarded spa/pool towels. Cozy Green recently introduced “upcycled” pet beds utilizing non-logo terry cloth towels and linens. This product is ideal for pet friendly hotels. Five percent of all product sales will go to the environmental foundation of the hotel’s choice.
