Ware Malcomb Names Erica Godun Director, Sustainability

NEWARK, N.J.—Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, announced Erica Godun has been named Director, Sustainability. In this newly created position, Godun will be responsible for developing and supporting the firm’s sustainability-focused service offerings and be a resource for clients and team members on the application of project-appropriate green integration. She will create tools that enhance the firm’s internal training platform and delivery of environmentally responsible design solutions.

Godun brings more than 25 years of experience in various phases of architecture and design to Ware Malcomb and has been passionate about environmental sustainability throughout her career. She is a LEED accredited professional and was one of the firm’s first WELL accredited professionals. Since joining the firm in 2015, she has worked to positively impact the sustainability of multiple projects, assisted fellow team members in expanding their understanding of health and wellness related to the built environment and remains a strong advocate for sharing knowledge within the firm and the design industry.

A licensed architect in the states of New Jersey and New York, Godun has worked on a wide range of projects, including corporate office, industrial, laboratories, government, and education facilities. She initially joined Ware Malcomb as Studio Manager, Interior Architecture & Design before being promoted to Director, Regional Operations overseeing operations for the firm’s Newark, Princeton, and New York City offices.

Godun received bachelor’s degrees in Architecture and Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design. In addition to her LEED BD+C and WELL professional credentials, she completed the Fitwel Ambassador course. Godun currently serves as President-Elect on the board of directors for Commercial Real Estate Women – New Jersey (CREW-NJ). She recently presented at CREW NJ & Mid Atlantic Real Estate Journal’s 2023 State of the Market event, discussing ESG on the event’s industrial panel, and authored an industry article on sustainability in the design field.
