FRANKLIN PARK, ILL.—Sloan Valve Company, a leading manufacturer of water-conserving plumbing systems, is a platinum sponsor of Greenbuild 2007, the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building, taking place November 7 to 9 at McCormick Place West in Chicago. Sloan will introduce six new products at Greenbuild, adding to its established line of energy- and water-efficient restroom solutions.

“Water is the most precious natural resource in the world,” says Jim Allen, manager of Sloan’s water-efficiency division and a LEED-accredited professional. “Being a Platinum sponsor of Greenbuild shows our commitment to providing outstanding products that deliver on the promise of efficiency without sacrificing performance.”

The six new products to be introduced include:

• SOLIS Dual-Flush Flushometer: World’s first solar powered Flushometer—with groundbreaking efficiency.

• Sloan 1 Pint Urinal System: Eighty-eight percent water savings over standard urinals. Available with manual or sensor operated valves.

• SOLIS Faucet: Part of the Sloan Solar Series of products—elegant design, unequaled efficiency.

• SLOAN ECOS: Dual-Flush Flushometer. Groundbreaking dual-flush feature. Easily retrofits to any existing Sloan Valve.

• SLOAN Graywater System: An industry first. Harvesting water that would go down the drain and use it for toilet flushing.

• SLOAN SMS Water Management Tool: Sloan Monitored Systems. You can’t manage what you can’t monitor.

With a comprehensive line of products, Sloan remains a leading manufacturer of green plumbing solutions to the world market. Recently, Sloan accepted the Green Power Leadership Award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its Green Power Purchase. Sloan offsets 100 percent of the energy used in its Franklin Park facility with renewable energy—helping to reduce its carbon footprint.

Setting a Green Example

Sloan Valve is also helping to advance the overall market for green power by showing other manufacturers how they can be an integral part of green building efforts. The company recently supplied the Chicago Center for Green Technology with water-efficient plumbing fixtures to support the center’s goal of helping professionals and homeowners learn about the cost savings and environmental benefits of green technologies.

Moreover, about 89 percent of a Sloan Flushometer is made from brass casting alloy, 99 percent of which is from recycled sources, and is itself completely recyclable or reusable in remodel projects.

Sloan will be in good company, as they join 18,000 building professionals from around the world at this year’s Greenbuild. The three-day conference will feature outstanding educational sessions, renowned speakers, green building tours, special seminars, networking events, and the biggest exhibit hall in Greenbuild history with 850 exhibit booths.
