More Than 100 HD Supply Associates Earn CMHS Designation

SAN DIEGO—HD Supply Facilities Maintenance, a leading single-source supplier to the hospitality industry, announced that more than 100 of its associates have obtained the Certified Master Hotel Supplier (CMHS) designation, more than any other supplier in the hospitality industry.

“As a professional supplier, it is important that we have a deep understanding of the hotel industry,” said David Kahn, CMHS and vice president, HD Supply Facilities Maintenance—Hospitality Solutions. “By supporting all of our hospitality associates through the CMHS program, we are empowering them to help our customers identify practical solutions to real-world challenges.”

The CMHS designation is considered by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute to be the highest honor for professional excellence offered to suppliers of products and services to the hospitality industry. HD Supply Facilities Maintenance now boasts a total of 110 designees, which includes sales, merchandising and marketing associates. Future newly hired associates dedicated to serving hospitality customers will apply for the CMHS program.

Proof of Dedication to Industry

“HD Supply has consistently displayed dedication to the hospitality industry through committee participation and sponsorships,” said Robert L. Steele III, CHA—president and COO of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI). “By supporting so many of its employees through the CMHS program, they have taken that support to the next level.”

The company has a history of leadership and support within the hospitality industry, including several senior leaders who currently hold leadership positions within key industry associations. Rajan Batra, senior national account manager—Hospitality Solutions was appointed in March 2013 to a two-year term as Allied Director at Large for the Asian American Hotel Owners Association. Bree Lewis, senior industry development manager—Hospitality Solutions serves on the Women in Lodging Executive Council in the American Hotel & Lodging Assn. (AH&LA) and the Board of Directors for the Latino Hotel & Restaurant Assn. Geoff Feingold, director of national accounts—Hospitality Solutions serves as Chairman of the AH&LA’s Allied Executive Council.

Several key HD Supply Facilities Maintenance leaders, including those mentioned above, will attend the International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City November 9 to 12.
