WEST HARTFORD, CONN.—Legrand, a global specialist in electrical and network infrastructure solutions, announced the launch of the new Solar Charging Kit, further growing its line of outdoor power solutions that deliver safe, permanent power outside.

With a clean, sleek aesthetic, the Solar Charging Kit quickly, and easily, adds USB charging for mobile devices to commercial and hospitality outdoor spaces without the time or hassle of a full construction project. Each kit includes a solar panel assembly with battery, all necessary wiring, a mounting collar and three charging shelves. Shelving units offer two USB-A ports that are illuminated and protected with a sliding cover, keeping connections safe from all types of weather.

The Solar Charging Kit can be added to any standard light pole with a 4” diameter. The kit provides 3.1A of charging per pair of USB ports, and can power up to 15 fully depleted devices.

“While there is an increasing demand for innovative, outdoor power solutions, the traditional methods of installation can cost upwards of $8,000 per station, along with significant facility downtime to dig up the area,” explains Sabrina Snyder, Product Marketing Manager at Legrand. “Outdoor has become the new indoor, and we’re excited to launch the new Solar Charging Kit to easily add charging capabilities to existing landscapes.”

The Solar Charging Kit can be used in any region and one full day of direct sunlight is enough to fully recharge the station. The included battery is designed to hold energy throughout the day and night, meaning it can also be used after dark, and the LED lights on the shelves indicate whether or not the station has enough power to charge.
