SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO—At San Juan’s luxury adults-only boutique hotel, Condado Ocean Club, giving back to the local community is a top priority. As the regenerative tourism movement continues to gain traction with travelers (according to CNBC.com), Condado Ocean Club is excited to announce a brand-new regenerative travel initiative that will support four separate causes that are close to the property’s heart.

For each stay booked through the OC Summer Package, guests will not only save up to 20 percent on their stay, but Condado Ocean Club will also donate a portion of proceeds to one of their community partners, including San Juan Bay Estuary, Alma de Bahia Foundation, Museo de Las Américas, and Omatikaya.

Alma De Bahia Foundation: Translating to the “Soul of Bahia,” this foundation is the nonprofit arm of the Bahia Beach Resort & Golf Club, which contributes to the surrounding community and promotes local sustainability through conservation initiatives and environmental education. The Foundation is tasked with the protection and enrichment of critical habitats for the flora and fauna inside the resort and its surrounding areas. The foundation also has an in-house dog shelter to help rescue homeless dogs and eventually place them with a family in a “forever home” in the United States where potential adopters are screened to help ensure a good fit between the dog and the adoptive family. With a farm-to-table approach, Bahia Beach Resort & Golf Club offers its residents organic and fresh produce from its on-site garden.

Museo de Las Américas: At the Museum of Americas, “Crear es crecer” (to create is to grow) is a project that is geared towards accessibility and inclusion through the transformative power of art. Its first edition, which included a series of virtual workshops, was open to 10 young adults between the ages of 16 and 25 with functional diversity and conditions such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and autism.

San Juan Bay Estuary: This organization implemented the Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan (CCMP) of the Estuario de la Bahía de San Juan through 11 programs based on science, education, art, and participation from the community. San Juan Bay is the bay and main inlet just across from the hotel. It is about 3.5 miles in length and is home to manatees and other fresh-water marine life.

Omatikaya: This small community-based organization conducts volunteer work through other entities that provide services and support to youth and families.

The OC Summer Travel With a Purpose package will be available until September 30, 2022, and the more nights one books, the greater the discount. Using the code SUMMER, guests can receive 10 percent on stays of 2 nights; 15 percent off on stays of 3 to 4 nights; and 20 percent off on stays of 5 nights or more. Guests will also receive a $50 food and beverage credit at any of the hotel’s culinary outlets.
