I am very excited to announce the launch of our new website at www.greenlodgingnews.com. Have you seen it? The site is the culmination of more than 10 years of work and includes almost 9,000 articles. It will take a bit of getting used to if you were used to the old website. First, all of the links that previously were on the left side of the website have been moved under topic areas in the main navigation bar. Drop-down menus will take you to departments ranging from Energy Management to News Blog to Vendor Videos. The Events calendar includes links to industry events where one can learn about green products, trends and technologies.

The site was built with our sponsors in mind. Ad sizes are larger, there are new ad spots, and our Green Product & Service Directory is featured prominently. If you happen to be a green supplier to our industry, contact me for our 2017 media kit. It explains ongoing and new ad opportunities.

The site is meant to be interactive. At the end of every article there is an opportunity to add a comment. Our Guest Columns section remains open for contributions and my News Blog is open as well for guest contributions. The new website will only grow and succeed with your participation. The site’s design is flexible. If you have an idea for a new section, please let me know.

This has been an exciting year for Green Lodging News so far with the launch of the Green Lodging Survey with Greenview in April and now the launch of our new site. Expect even more exciting news in the months ahead.

Please take some time to explore the new site and let me know what you think. Thank you. I can be reached at editor@greenlodgingnews.com or (813) 510-3868.

Looking for Guest Columnists

Every two weeks Green Lodging News posts a new guest column on its website. (Click here for examples.) The guest column also appears in the weekly e-newsletter. Green Lodging News is currently in need of industry experts to contribute occasional guest columns. Experts may include consultants, architects, designers, suppliers and those who own or operate green lodging establishments. Columns may be articles that take a stance on a particular subject or be strictly educational in nature. Columnists benefit by having their photo included along with a one paragraph description of their company. Interested in writing a column? Contact Glenn Hasek, publisher and editor, at (813) 510-3868, or by e-mail at editor@greenlodgingnews.com.
