SANTA CLARA, CALIF.—WattStopper, a leader in energy-efficient lighting controls, announced expansion of its Birmingham, Ala., office, adding new positions to support commercial building control projects throughout the United States and Canada.

The added staff includes a newly formed Customer Care group and expansion of the Technical Services Group with new project managers, application engineers, and drafters. The expansion solidifies the company’s commitment to position the Birmingham office as a hub for applications and technical support for design professionals specializing in advanced lighting control projects for commercial buildings.

“As controls projects continue to grow in importance, they also exhibit new levels of complexity with energy code compliance requirements, sophisticated design intent, and a wide range of technology options to achieve project goals,” said Jim Young, VP of Sales & Marketing. “Designers have always valued the support and knowledge WattStopper experts bring in terms of lighting and construction practices, as well as the deep expertise in code and high-performance building topics. By expanding our Birmingham operation, we can better serve our customers by providing the best-in-class service they deserve and demand.”

In addition to the Birmingham location, WattStopper maintains offices in Plano, Texas, for technical sales support, Carlsbad, Calif., for engineering and product marketing, and Santa Clara, Calif., as its corporate headquarters.
