WOODRIDGE, ILL.—In its continued commitment to provide educational offerings for customers and partners, Globe Union and its family of companies, including Danze, Inc. and Gerber Plumbing Fixtures LLC, is sponsoring a free online education seminar for designers, architects and other industry professionals to earn valuable continuing education credits.

The course focuses on water. No building (residential, commercial, hospitality or other) can be considered sustainable if it wastes water. Wasting water depends almost entirely on the efficiency of on-site plumbing fixtures such as toilets, showers, faucets and urinals. Although early attempts at “efficient” fixtures often led to weak showers and toilets that had to be flushed multiple times, today’s high-efficiency fixtures use advanced engineering to deliver superior performance while saving significant amounts of water in everyday use.

This course provides the information needed to select high efficiency fixtures that conserve water, meet rapidly changing codes and standards, and contribute to LEED points.

Course learning objectives will include discussing the importance of selecting high efficiency plumbing fixtures to use limited water resources sustainably, and evaluating how the newest generation of highly efficient toilets, showers, faucets and other plumbing fixtures work differently to conserve water while enhancing performance. Other objectives include recognizing the codes, standards and programs such as WaterSense and LEED that affect selection of high efficiency plumbing fixtures, and using current information about technologies and trends in high efficiency plumbing fixtures to specify for water conservation, functional performance and aesthetics.
