PORTLAND, ORE.—Viridian Reclaimed Wood announced the introduction of Northwind, a line of commercial-grade paneling derived from reclaimed transpacific crating material, according to Viridian co-owner Pierce Henley. Made from a mix of slow-growing spruce and pine from the frigid climate of subarctic Russia, the paneling is available in two varieties: Rustic (in natural, ebony, silver and mocha stains) and Smooth (in natural, ebony and whitewash).

“Northwind reclaimed wood paneling is a very affordable, turnkey solution with consistent specs,” Henley said. “Designers can use it in environments where either rustic or neutral wood finishes are desired, which makes it extremely versatile for a variety of commercial interior applications.”

Henley noted all styles are in stock for very short turnaround.

Northwind paneling is available in 5/8″ thickness, with a face width of 3″, and in random lengths from 2′–8′. Architectural panels up to 3′ wide by 8′ tall are also available. All products are kiln-dried, precision milled to profile, sanded and prefinished. The paneling is designed for fast installation, with very short lead times, and can be specified Class A fire-rated.

Viridian paneling is 100-percent FSC-certified and can contribute points toward the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Credits: MRc3: (Materials Reuse), MRc4 (Recycled Content), MRc5 (Regional Materials) and MRc7 (Certified Wood).
