PORTLAND, ORE.—Viridian Reclaimed Wood announced it has launched a line of paneling derived from reclaimed cedar and redwood fencing, according to Viridian co-owner Pierce Henley.

“Robert Frost’s musing verse, ‘good fences make good neighbors’ was the inspiration for our newest product,” Henley said.  “Our pet project to keep old fence boards from going to the landfill has grown into an extensive recycling operation and a gorgeous new paneling line called Good Neighbor.”

Available in Weathered Redwood, Fresh-Sawn Redwood and Multi-Toned varieties, Good Neighbor paneling is lightweight and easy to work with.

Good Neighbor Weathered Redwood has been exposed to years of sun, rain and snow to create a patina that is unmistakable and genuine. The wind-worn color palette emphasizes charcoal and brown tones. It can also come as fresh sawn redwood with just a hint of character from its prior life as a fence board. Either face can be used exclusively or mixed and matched to create unique looks.

Different Color Shades Available

Good Neighbor Multi-Toned embraces the variability of backyard fence boards. It contains a broad spectrum of reds, charcoals, grays, browns and moss greens. Some retain the vintage look of faded paint or sun-bleached whitewash. The years of fencing use create an instantly recognizable look.

All material is kiln dried, goes through a brushing process and can be milled many ways for easy installation. Paneling is 1/2” thick, with a 5” face, in lengths of 12”-70”.

Viridian Good Neighbor Paneling is FSC Recycled 100 percent (post-consumer reclaimed) and can contribute points toward the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Credits: MRc3: (Materials Reuse), MRc4 (Recycled Content), MRc5 (Regional Materials) and MRc7 (Certified Wood).
