TRAVELERS REST, S.C.—T&S Brass announces its new Pre-Rinse Swivel Product #018200-40. The only product of its kind, the pre-rinse swivel fits between the spray handle and the hose of a pre-rinse spray unit (PRSU) and is available both as a separate component for retrofit installations, or factory installed on select T&S pre-rinse units and spray assemblies. The T&S pre-rinse swivel fits and functions on all T&S and Equip pre-rinse units, and on those of many other manufacturers’ models.

“We asked ourselves how we could improve the pre-rinse spray unit, a product invented by T&S almost seventy years ago that is now an indispensable piece of equipment in virtually every commercial and institutional kitchen in the world,” says Ken Gallagher, vice president of global sales. “This is what our engineers came up with. Operators, especially older ones, or those who spend extended periods of time rinsing dishes, told us the lack of flexibility in manipulating a pre-rinse handle and hose was an ongoing issue. Fatigue, broken hoses, frustration at trying to wrestle the spray valve in the direction you want it to go…these are problems we wanted to solve, and we have.”

The new swivel allows full 360° rotation of a pre-rinse spray valve, independent of its hose, which causes less torsion on the hose and spray handle and less fatigue on the wrist and arm of the operator. The unimpeded, easy rotation eliminates stress and strain on the hose, thereby extending its lifecycle as well as saving significant amounts of time, water and money.

Features of the new pre-rinse swivel include:

•    Heavy-duty commercial construction;
•    Stainless steel, non-corrosive, concealed ball bearings that provide ultra-smooth operation;
•    Durable, rustproof, chrome-plated brass finish that is easy to clean and maintain;
•    Easy retrofit installation requiring only a 5/16” hex wrench; and
•    Full compliance with ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1, ANSI/NSF 61—Section 9, California Health and Safety Code 116875 (AB1953-2006), NSF/ANSI 372 ~ Low Lead Content (0.25% Max), and EPAct 2005.
