DALTON, GA.—Tandus Centiva, a Tarkett company, has received ISO 14001-2004 Certification for its manufacturing facility in Truro, Nova Scotia. All Tandus Centiva manufacturing facilities in Dalton Ga, Calhoun Ga., Florence, Ala., and Truro, Nova Scotia are now ISO 14001 certified. ISO 14001 is a third-party certification that requires an organization to establish, document and continuously improve an Environmental Management System (EMS).

An Environmental Management System is a set of processes and practices that involves maintaining environmental compliance with regulations and measuring reporting on environmental metrics. It enables an organization to reduce its environmental impact and increase its operating efficiency with a goal of continuous improvement.

“At Tandus Centiva, we are committed to making a positive contribution to the world in which we live and work,” said Erin Istanbulluoglu, Director of Environmental & Social Stewardship, Tandus Centiva. “Quality, transparency and environmental responsibility are key components in all that we do from product design to production to customer service. Becoming ISO 14001 certified in all our manufacturing facilities provides customers with assurances regarding environmental management of our products and processes.”

Tandus Centiva’s environmental policy is to strive for continual improvement to reduce the environmental impacts of its operations, products and services by establishing objectives and metrics for improving environmental performance. In 2008, the Dalton and Calhoun manufacturing facilities received ISO 14001 Certification followed by the Florence, Ala. LVT facility and now Truro, Nova Scotia.
