PORTLAND, ORE.—The Hotel Vintage Plaza and 5th Avenue Suites Hotel, supporters of Eco Friendly practices, are recognizing guests who drive hybrid vehicles by cutting the standard $25 per night parking fee in half, to $12.50 per night. Guests who qualify are informed by the valet and guest service staff upon check-in and the discount applies to each night the guest stays at the hotel(s).
“We appreciate the efforts of our guests to be eco-conscious by choosing to drive a hybrid vehicle, and wanted to recognize that effort,” says Marianne Moisant, Assistant General Manager of the Hotel Vintage Plaza. “The 50 percent discount can result in a significant savings for those travelers staying for multiple nights.”
The Hotel Vintage Plaza and the 5th Avenue Suites Hotel are the only downtown Portland hotels with the City of Portland’s BlueWorks Business Recycling Certification. In order to receive this certification, businesses are required to recycle 50 percent of their waste in the City of Portland. Both properties have committed to recycling all paper, newspaper, glass, cardboard and compost. The hotels have also converted to paperless check-in and water flow valves.
Vehicles that currently qualify for Hybrid vehicle discounts include: Toyota Prius, Honda Insight, Honda Civic Hybrid, Honda Accord Hybrid, Ford Escape SUV Hybrid, Lexus RX 400h SUV Hybrid, Toyota Highlander SUV Hybrid, Mercury Mariner SUV Hybrid, GM Silverado Hybrid, and GM Sierra Hybrid. Coming soon: Nissan Altima Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid, Lexus GS, Saturn VUE, and Dodge Ram Hybrid.
