SALT LAKE CITY—Control4, a provider of IP-based home control systems, has signed 45 Park Lane to its customer roster. Luxury hotel brand, Dorchester Collection, is set to open 45 Park Lane in the heart of London’s Mayfair in Summer 2011. The hotel will use Control4 Suite Systems’ automation technology, a complete door-to-drapes operating system and platform for the modern hotel room that allows guests to easily control lighting, room temperature, TVs, music, drapes and concierge services with a single remote.

With a large penthouse and 45 luxurious rooms and suites, all with sweeping views of Hyde Park, 45 Park Lane will be the ninth hotel in Dorchester Collection’s portfolio of iconic hotels. Only yards away from its sister hotel, The Dorchester, 45 Park Lane will be more contemporary in style with world-renowned architect and designer, Thierry Despont, creating a luxurious modern interior with an intimate club-like feel. The exterior will be equally stylish with a revamped facade incorporating eco-friendly ‘fins’ made from aluminum to utilize solar power within the hotel’s heating and cooling processes.

“Leading hoteliers today, like Dorchester Collection, realize that guests are looking for more than your average night’s stay, and want a truly memorable and unique experience from their visit,” said Will West, CEO of Control4. “That’s why it makes good business sense for hotels such as 45 Park Lane to incorporate complete entertainment system automation, temperature and lighting controls within the guest experience. We’re happy to add Dorchester Collection to our client roster.”

Personalized Automation Experience

“When we chose to use the help of Control4 in 45 Park Lane, we envisioned developing a ‘personalized automation’ experience for each guest,” said Mark Campbell, chief information officer for the Dorchester Collection. “When guests open the door to their rooms, the room has a welcoming feel. The lights will gradually come on and the drapes will open to spectacular views of Hyde Park. Using simple touch screen devices, guests can control lighting levels, room temperature, music, wake-up calls and more.”

Control4 Suite Systems’ “Hospitality Dashboard” is a Web-based application that can integrate with property management systems to deliver concierge-type services, as well as automate the guestroom, based on check-in/check-out status.
