CHICAGO—Expanding its Unique Effects Collection with two new styles—Banana Bark and Jacinthe—MDC, the leading wallcovering and design solutions company, offers hospitality interiors the luxury of hand-woven, sustainably sourced goods for the wall.

“The new styles are special gifts from Mother Nature,” said Dan Brandt, Product Manager at MDC. “Not only are Banana Bark and Jacinthe beautiful in their design, but even more so, they’re beautiful because of where they come from and how they’re made. Every installation is truly unique.”

Banana Bark is sourced with minimal impact from the stems left behind after a banana harvest. It is intricately hand-woven in the tropics and available in neutral tones with hints of sparkle. Harvested from the tropical, rapidly renewing aquatic perennial Water Hyacinth, Jacinthe features individually hand-applied fiber strips that are tightly woven.

One-of-a-kind and 100 percent natural, both patterns are available in classic, earth neutrals with hints of shimmer. With the addition of Banana Bark and Jacinthe, there are now 19 handcrafted Unique Effects patterns—each one distinct and dramatic. Among the other styles are Avalon Bead, Feathers, Newsprint, Sequin and Sisal.
