LRA Worldwide’s Lopez Earns LEED AP Certification

HORSHAM, PA.—Roxanna Lopez, an Operations Manager for LRA Worldwide in the Audits and Inspections Group, has achieved LEED Accredited Professional (AP) status from the United States Green Building Council. Lopez’s certificate is in the Building Operations & Maintenance specialty. Previously, Lopez was recognized as a LEED Green Associate; the LEED AP credential signifies an advanced depth of knowledge in green building practices along with the ability to work in the specialized LEED Rating System.

Lopez has been at the forefront of LRA’s work in the sustainability field, developing the on-site verification process for the Green Key Eco-Rating program, the hotel industry’s leading green certification initiative. She also manages the team that conducts these verification audits at Green Key rated properties in the United States as part of LRA’s ongoing partnership with the Hotel Association of Canada and Green Key Global.

“We are always looking to develop our in-house expertise in areas that are top-of-mind for the hospitality industry,” said John Roberto, LRA’s Executive Vice President of Customer Experience Measurement. “Sustainable operation is something that all of our clients are thinking about, and Roxanna’s credentials in this field expand the ways we can support them.”

Lopez Leads IHG Project

This past year, LRA was engaged by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) to manage the certification process for IHG’s internal “Green Engage” program on a global basis. Lopez has headed that project as well, conducting the pilot certifications and recruiting and training a global, multi-lingual team to manage the certification process for IHG.

“The LEED toolkit has been a great resource for me as we have developed and refined these certification programs,” Lopez explained. ”And the LEED credentials create a level of trust and legitimacy when I work directly with the individual properties.”

LRA provides a variety of Customer Experience Measurement services to leading brands in hospitality and beyond, designing and deploying customized brand compliance, quality assurance, mystery shopping, certification and survey programs. In all, LRA’s Audits & Inspections group will conduct nearly 26,000 evaluations in 2014 for clients such as Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos, Revera Senior Living, the National Football League, Ritz Carlton Hotels & Resorts and The Compass Group.
