GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE, OHIO—The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake was recognized recently for its conservation and recycling efforts by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with its inaugural Encouraging Environmental Excellence (E3) award. The Ohio EPA award was presented to The Lodge in recognition of its recycling program, energy efficiency and water conservation.

Of particular note was The Lodge’s participation in the Delaware North Companies GreenPath program, an environmental management program which resulted in the annual recycling of an estimated 23,600 pounds of paper, plastic and other materials and 8,100 gallons of cooking oil. The Lodge also saved more than 238,000 gallons of water and 13,000 kilowatts of energy last year through its energy efficiency and water conservation efforts.

“Energy conservation is a way of doing business for us,” said Jeannette Petrolia, general manager of the Lodge. As a resort located in the midst of some of Ohio’s most precious natural resources, we are continually looking for ways to make the most of every guest experience in an energy-savvy way. Our entire team is honored to be recognized by the state’s top environmental agency.”

The Ohio EPA created the award to recognize organizations and companies that help preserve and protect the environment, as well as providing an incentive that will help encourage future environmental stewardship efforts.
