PORTLAND, ORE.—Provenance Hotels, a hotel company passionate about conspiring with likeminded independent companies, has teamed up with LATHER, a modern apothecary that develops natural body and skincare products infused with essential oils, to create a line of soaps crafted in collaboration with some of Portland’s most respected culinary artisans. Provenance Hotels has long featured delicious products from these companies in their hotels—from hand-harvested sea salt from Jacobsen Salt Co. to blended teas from Smith Teamaker to honey harvested on the rooftops of Hotel Lucia, Sentinel and Hotel deLuxe by Bee Local.

Now, Provenance Hotels is working with LATHER to turn the indulgent goodness of these makers’ passions into the freshest, most authentically-Portland bath experience around. Guests who stay at Provenance Hotels in 2017 will be able to lather up with soaps infused with mint essential oils from Yakima, Wash.; lavender essential oils from Clackamas County, Ore.; peppermint tea leaves harvested in Oregon; honey made by bees in Portland; and hand-harvested sea salt from the Oregon coast infused with Willamette Valley pinot noir.

With Jacobsen Salt, innovators at the vanguard of the American salt maker movement and the first company to harvest salt on the Oregon coast since Lewis & Clark, LATHER and Provenance Hotels have created an Exfoliating Body Bar with Pink Salt that is made with salt hand-harvested by Jacobsen from the Oregon coast and infused with Oregon Pinot Noir. This soap is infused with lavender essential oils sourced in Oregon.

With Bee Local, a company that produces single-origin honeys and oversees Provenance Hotels’ rooftop bee hives in Portland, they have created an Exfoliating Honey-Oatmeal Body Bar that features Bee Local honey, mint essential oil from Washington, lavender essential oil from Oregon and exfoliating oatmeal to gently cleanse the skin. Smith Teamaker has lent their expertise to help create an invigorating Exfoliating Peppermint Body Bar that features peppermint tea leaves harvested in Oregon and mint essential oil from Washington. All three soaps also feature all-natural ingredients to moisturize and protect the skin like olive oil, shea butter, bamboo extract and Vitamin E.

Provenance Hotels and LATHER will be rolling these co-conspirator soaps out into guestrooms at the company’s Pacific Northwest hotels—Hotel Max in Seattle and Portland’s Hotel Lucia, Hotel deLuxe and Sentinel—over the first six months of 2017. They will also be available in rooms at Provenance Hotels’ brand new Hotel Theodore in Seattle and Dossier in Portland when they open in summer 2017. If guests want to take home the fresh indulgence of this bath experience or give them as gifts, the set will be available for purchase in a set of three 1.6 oz. bars in the guestroom honor bars later this year.
