HONG KONG—Burba Hotel Network (BHN), Horwath HTL, and Stiles Capital Events, co-hosts and organizers of the annual Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP), announced that entries for the HICAP 2016 Sustainable Hotel Awards are now being accepted. The deadline for Awards submissions is August 1, 2016. The 27th annual HICAP will be held October 19 to 21, 2016, at the InterContinental Hong Kong.
The HICAP Sustainable Hotel Awards were launched in 2007 with the aim of recognizing hotel operators and developers in the Asia Pacific region who demonstrate exemplary sustainable practices and environmentally and culturally responsible development. The goal through the awards is to inspire industry-wide commitment to embracing and proliferating sustainable development as standard practice to help preserve global and local environments and cultures.
Submissions will be judged by a specially selected panel of experts including:
• Robert Day, Senior Vice President, WATG;
• Lyndall DeMarco, Managing Director, Only Sustainability Pty Ltd;
• Dr. Harold Goodwin, Professor of Responsible Tourism, Manchester Metropolitan University & Director, International Centre for Responsible Tourism;
• John Graham, Chief Environmental Specialist, International Finance Corp.; and
• Eric Ricaurte, Founder & CEO, Greenview.
Winners will be notified of their acceptance in September 2016 and the awards will be presented at the closing Awards luncheon at HICAP on October 21, 2016, at the InterContinental Hong Kong.
