TAMPA, FLA.—Go Green Planters, Inc. (GGP), a family operated nursery stock dealer, is collaborating with K9s for Warriors. The company is calling the program Plants for K9s.

On behalf of K9s for Warriors, a leading nonprofit organization that rescues dogs to train them to be service dogs for veterans battling the effects of PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury, GGP provides a lush tropical plant for each guestroom at no cost to the hotel. In consideration of this new amenity, guests are asked to contribute $1.00 to K9s for Warriors. As stated by Craig Van Pelt, President of GGP, “We’re honored to work with K9s for Warriors and help them achieve their extraordinarily important mission. Their program is comprehensive and actually trains the veterans with the service dogs at their facility in Florida. The program literally changes the lives of the veterans that have given so much to us. For hoteliers, guests appreciate the plant in the room and their innkeepers’ socially minded efforts.”

Plants have been scientifically proven to clean the air, create fresh oxygen, improve moods, and dramatically enhance life quality. The absence of plants in guestrooms has always been a matter of money due to the cost to maintain the live plants which require constant watering. Then there’s the issue of dirt and water, which can get messy and also attract insects. GGP’s patented technology has eliminated all of these issues. Instead of growing in a pot of soil, the plants grow in a clean “planter pouch” that’s filled with eco-friendly, environmentally safe, crystal clear artificial soil. The plants are literally 100 percent maintenance free for months on end.
