PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.—Evolve Controls, a provider of enterprise wireless solutions, introduced two guest-facing applications running on the Room Operations Center (ROC), its next generation room control platform. The applications are designed to deliver touch control of virtually every element in a hotel room, ranging from temperature and lighting to the operation of the draperies and beyond. Far beyond that, however, GuestX applications deliver personalized, content-driven information and interactions.
GuestX Concierge is deployed on devices running Microsoft Windows 8; GuestX YOU is specifically designed so that hotel guests can download the same functionality to their mobile phones or other devices (BYOD), helping them blend familiarity with control.
In addition to having complete room control, GuestX Concierge provides a full, customizable range of information to guests, including messaging, news and sports headlines, local weather conditions, curated reviews of local attractions and restaurants and more. By empowering the guest’s personal device, guests can receive hotel messages and have full control of their room during their stay, either on or off the property.
Regardless of which option hotel guests choose, their information will be seamlessly handled by Evolve’s ROC devices, which connect to the Azure Cloud infrastructure from Microsoft. As a result, hoteliers receive automatic updates and features in a “hands-off” manner, ensuring that their systems are always up-to-date. The ROC platform was introduced at last month’s HITEC conference in Los Angeles.

We believe that the potential capabilities of GuestX and ROC are only limited by the imagination.” Pieper noted that as an open platform, ROC is designed to update via the cloud and accommodate additional functionality and applications, making its wholly flexible design of greater benefit over time.
