LA Moves to Slash GHG Emissions from Buildings

LOS ANGELES—Los Angeles, the nation’s second-largest city, took a bold step toward reducing climate pollution recently when its City Council adopted an amendment aimed at making steep reductions in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from commercial and residential buildings, including by transitioning from conventional natural gas to electricity generated from pollution-free sources like wind and solar. ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2016 Receives Determination from DOE

ATLANTA—ASHRAE received a final determination issued by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Building Energy Codes Program stating that ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2016, Energy Efficiency Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, would achieve greater energy efficiency in commercial buildings subject to the code. PACE Financing the Right Solution for Hotel Indigo Owners

The former Brookfield Building in downtown Kansas City, now almost 90 years old, is now newly renovated and highly efficient thanks in part to Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) financing.
