DULUTH, GA.—Duravit has launched HygieneGlaze 2.0. The original HygieneGlaze ceramic finish was first released in 2015, but Duravit’s research and development team has now further advanced its innovative antibacterial glaze to create the 2.0 version.

Duravit USA President Tim Schroeder explains, “At Duravit, our focus goes beyond the aesthetics of our products to the wellbeing of their users. HygieneGlaze 2.0 ensures a healthful and clean bathroom environment thanks to its unique chemical composition and the innovative spirit of the Duravit team.”

The new HygieneGlaze 2.0 is not only powerful on toilets and urinals, but also rapidly effective. After 12 hours, 99.9 percent of bacteria are eradicated. After 24 hours, HygieneGlaze 2.0 reaches an unprecedented level of 99.999 percent bacteria elimination.

HygieneGlaze 2.0’s manufacturing process is key to its reduction in pathogens like E.Coli. Baked into the ceramic, HygieneGlaze 2.0 extends from the interior of the basin to the rim of the toilet or urinal. The HygieneGlaze 2.0 easily tackles areas high in bacteria accumulation. The glaze swiftly kills E.Coli bacteria by use of the “oligodynamic reaction”—the effect of positively charged metal ions on bacteria. HygieneGlaze 2.0’s optimized formula contains a new combination of various metal ions and active substances.

HygieneGlaze 2.0 is available for all toilets and urinals in the P3 Comforts and ME by Starck ranges.
