ODESSA, FLA. & SINGAPORE—Green Lodging News, lodging’s leading environmental news source, and Greenview, a leader in advancing hotel sustainability, remind you to complete the planet’s premier Green Lodging Survey. Owners and operators of lodging establishments around the globe are being asked to participate. The survey will remain open through August 31. The Green Lodging Survey is the lodging industry’s annual exercise to assess and catalyze green innovation, best practices, and awareness regarding the state of sustainability across hotels worldwide. You can participate in the survey by clicking here. There is no cost to do so. The Green Lodging Survey is sponsored by The Arbor Day Foundation at the Silver level and Pineapple Hospitality, Aquawing Ozone Laundry Systems, PragmaTech Ltd. and reCollect2 Co. at the Bronze level.

The survey launched with the support of Travelife, Green Key Global, Mekong Tourism Office, Horwath HTL Asia Pacific and Clean the World.

Tens of thousands of green lodging establishments around the planet—primarily those in the United States, Canada, and Southeast Asia—are encouraged to benchmark their sustainability practices by completing this survey.

In Search of Innovative Lodging Practices

“I am excited to partner with Greenview on this global project that has been built to uncover and analyze lodging’s leading innovative best practices in the area of sustainability,” says Glenn Hasek, Publisher and Editor of Green Lodging News. “Green Lodging News and Greenview intend to reach tens of thousands of lodging establishments with this survey.”

“We see sustainability as a continuous adoption of best practices, more efficient and engaging technology, and innovation,” says Eric Ricaurte, Founder & CEO of Greenview. “The Green Lodging Survey strives to be the main resource for a hotel to benchmark itself along this adoption path, one practice at a time. Rather than viewing a hotel as either ‘green’ or ‘not’, the Green Lodging Survey will enable the industry to see the general progression.”

“Owners and operators of single lodging establishments are encourage to participate,” Hasek says. “If you are part of a company that owns and/or manages multiple properties, please direct representatives at each property to participate. And, if you are in a position to influence participation through direct contact, publicity, etc., please do that as well. We need as many people as possible to complete the survey.”

Easy-to-Complete Questions

The Survey: The survey consists of about 100 easy-to-complete questions covering the latest in operational practices, facility attributes, and outreach programs to conserve resources, reduce carbon emissions, increase guest experience, and make positive community impact. Hotels, Resorts, and B&Bs participate by responding to the survey via the online Greenview Portal platform where work can be saved and answers easily can be updated for the next year’s survey.

The Trends Report: After the close of the survey, a Trends Report will be produced that will analyze the results with general trends and highlight exemplary practices and innovations that stand out, serving as a guidepost for the industry and especially the survey participants.

The Benchmarking Report: Survey participants will receive a compare report confidential to each participant, to serve as a yardstick for a property to understand the status of each specific practice within the general participant universe.
