PLAINFIELD, ILL.—Cicero’s Development Corporation, a leading full-service commercial property renovations contractor, is supporting The Barbara Bates Foundation third annual “Knocking Out Breast Cancer” Fashion Show.

Scheduled for Sunday, October 12, 2014, at the Venue One meeting and event center located at 1044 W. Randolph Street in Chicago, Knocking Out Breast Cancer to date has raised over $300,000 to educate women in under resourced communities about the detection and treatment of breast cancer.

In addition to its sponsorship, Cicero’s Director of Business Development, Zara Johnson, will be modeling in the event. A proud mom and grandmother, Zara is a breast cancer survivor who counsels women and families on the importance of early detection, family history and a fundamental belief in the power of second chances. In 2011, Zara was crowned Mrs. Illinois, representing the state at the national Mrs. America pageant and in numerous charity events throughout the year.

Sam Cicero, Sr., who has worked with Zara for more than 25 years, tips his hat to his loyal employee and credits her hard work, passion, poise and organization as a significant factor in the success of Cicero’s over the past 40 years in business.

“Zara has been a wonderful asset to Cicero’s Development Corporation and we are proud of her as she participates in the Knocking Out Breast Cancer show,” Cicero, Sr. said. “All of us, including our extended families and friends of the company, are excited that Zara will be modeling and given a forum for her message of hope.”

Funds raised by Knocking Out Breast Cancer have gone directly to programs administered by Sinai Health Systems and the Lurie Cancer Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital with this year’s goal to raise an additional $200,000. The Fashion Show features breast cancer survivors wearing garments designed by Barbara Bates, herself a breast cancer survivor. Comedian Sinbad, the hardworking funnyman whose clean, family friendly persona and animated antics have endeared him into the hearts of dedicated fans worldwide, will be returning to host this year’s event alongside newswoman Robin Robinson.
